Dogs of India

While you travel around India, you will notice an over abundance of stray dogs. As a dog person myself, it was really hard to not pet them… especially the puppies! For the most part they will stay away from you. Most are just sleeping around the parks, mosques, and mosoleums. It’s important to know that while you will notice they sleep ALL day, the dogs wake up at night and are very territorial. We were told not to approach them especially at night since you don’t know if they might have rabies or other diseases. Personally, I didn’t see any aggression with any of the dogs I came across, but better to be safe.
